Suggestions?

Does anyone have suggestions on how to fully get rid of hives? We've given E. some Benadryl and that seems to temporarily get rid of them, but does anyone out there have any other suggestions on what could be causing them or how to get rid of them? Any help would be great!

Pobrecito

So I am just thinking that little E. can't catch a break this week. After our fiasco on Sunday things seemed to be settling down, his fever finally broke, he was feeling better and life was getting a little more normal. THEN...he woke up from his nap with a worse case of what you see below. As terrified, crazy parents (OK, just me, M. was perfectly fine) we went to the clinic to find out what in the world had taken over his poor little leg. He also had similar welts on his cheeks and another little one on his other leg.
So it turns out that he might have had some kind of reaction to Amoxicillin - great right? Well, so since it's still coming out of his system he has had these angry little welts coming and going for the last two days. This picture doesn't do justice to what he has had over the last few days poor kid.
And on top of that he's getting in his back molars, come on, seriously? So shoot up a prayer for us that he will feel better soon because I miss my happy little crazy man.

We did have a chance to start the ever scary (da da da...) potty training today! We bought a potty and had him sit on it. He liked it at first and even wanted to sit on it again later but besides peeing on the floor when M. was changing him, he hasn't quite grasped it. We have plenty of time for that though. So, yeah, sorry E. but I have officially put up the embarrassing picture of you sitting on the toilet that in later dating years I will pull out and show to girlfriends. At least it's the modest one.

"Veva" Las Vegas!

Let's give it up for our new hometown hero's! These "Fabulous 5" women are from our hometown and we all fondly called them the "Peterson Princesses". Way to go "Fab 5", we're all rooting for you to put Morgan, Utah on the map! Wahoo (totally accompanied by a big clogging smile-nod)!!!!!!

"Veva" is the youngest girls name, if you were wondering about the title!

The King

So I know you've all been waiting on pins and needles to see what I had to say about the King of Pop passing on.
If you know me well then you know that I celebrated Micheal's (yeah, we're on first name basis here) birthday on the steps of the capital. (Many years actually).
We had Michael Jackson parties in celebration just of him being fabulous.
To one particular girls choice dance my date and I dressed up in Micheal attire and looked great.
My sister and I would spend hours with my niece Karlie listening to her practice the maniacal laugh at the end of "Thriller".
I had not one, but three Michael mix tapes. That's right - three! Do you know how long that took?
Needless to say, I'm a fan, always have been - always will be.

My uncle directed Micheal's music video "Ghosts". (The blonde in the frumpy red sweater is my cousin's wife btw! They gave us that sweater later, and I wore it proudly for years.)

At a dinner with Micheal my cousin Matt even inquired about his sparkly glove, wondering why he wasn't wearing it.You will be missed Mikey-J!

Goofy invalid

We have spent the last few days up all night, trying to cool down a ridiculously high fever (103.5! Yikes right?), going to the ER, and completely pampering this super goofy little patient. Let's start at the beginning shall we?

So we started with this absolutely adorable and fun little horsey-rider (as he calls himself). He's Just chillin' riding his horse in these pictures, being a total ham and telling me "Say Cheese"! Yeah, he's cute right?
Continuing on with the adorableness.
Then we were able to head down to Indy and go to a "Fever" game. Go WNBA! It was a blast, except that E. was obviously not himself and really not enjoying the game. The Fever Mascot, Freddy Fever is this big, red, kind of scary dinosaur looking thing. E. was absolutely terrified of it and wanted it to stay as far away as possible. Most of the following pictures are of him trying to avoid it at all costs. We did get a little cheer out of him at one point.
Can you see the fear in his eyes? If you zoom in you can see "Freddy" in the background, this is such a great shot of how he looked the entire time. Shortly after this picture was taken E. requested to "go home" because he was "all done". He really wasn't himself and at first I thought he was just really freaked out by "Freddy". But...
Right after we left I felt his head and he was burning up. So needless to say, we flew home, took his temperature and realized that he had a fever of 103.5. That's right folks, I tormented my child with a big creepy dinosaur and a loud women's basketball game while he was burning up with a ridiculously high fever. Nice huh? Anyway, so we tried all night to get his fever down, with no luck. Around 4:30, after a sleepless night, a clingy "hold you" E. and a never budging fever - we went to the ER. They gave him some anti-biotics, told us the miracle trick of alternating Motrin and Tylenol (who knew, if you want to know the trick let me know - it worked like a charm.) And today we're doing so much better, the fever seems to be gone and E. seems to be back to normal, more or less.
So here is a hot pic of E. playing with his belly, watching Elmo at 11:00 at night.
And a close up of the goofy invalid.

NOW...Here is a video of Mr. Weirdie pushing his belly in and out while he's supposed to be miserably sick. What a goof!

Lovin' me some Obama!

So how can you not love this man? I sat down tonight to watch some tv and when I saw President Obama fielding questions about health care with good old Charles Gibson and Diane Sawyer my little heart filled with joy. It's so nice to have such a pro-active, intelligent, powerful president. So what if the questions were staged? At least the answers made sense!
I know a lot of you are haters out there and I'm not asking for any kind of debate, I'm just expressing my support, and yes, I love our President. I am a proud supporter of President Obama and the work he is doing. And hey - he's doing my signature camera shot, a big ol' thumbs up! He's a great man.

Fun baby fun...

Here you go random! Here are some lovely pictures for your enjoyability...

E.'s new favorite game is to put these paper protectors over his face and talk through them. We took family pictures of this fabulous game but I chose to not put those hideous pictures of M. and I up. Sorry if it disappoints not to see us with our faces smashed up against plastic, I know it's cute for E. but...
After a full day's activities and trying to get him onto an afternoon nap schedule this is how we ended up. He's never done this before but he cried and cried until he found a way to fall asleep in his little chair. Poor guy right?
On Saturday we went to "The Taste of Tippecanoe" and it was a blast! We really love it here, it's like a big small city and we think it's great. (Sorry all of you Lafayette haters but we're fans!) To explain - Tippecanoe county puts on a big celebration/ fair/ concert/ food bonanza every year and it really was fun. This is a picture of the hoards of people in the streets, it was completely packed.
Dadster and E. checkin' out the river, or "water, water water!" as E. would say while trying to throw himself in. Two little hotties right?
You have to get a face-painting at these functions right? We got a big P for Purdue! Go Boilermakers! Not to mention how stinkin' cute that little face it was painted on is.
That's right, that's "mango lassi" all over his face. (Thanks Paul and Jestina for the geniusness that is the "lassi"). We have an Indian restaurant here called Khana Khazana that has the most divine "mango lassi" ever and E. would drink his own if I didn't fight him for it. It's our favorite drink in the world I dare say. IT'S SO GOOD! We also got some curry pineapple fried rice that I would have killed for. Ahhhh...it was good.
The little man, just chillin'.
That's it for our recent adventures. Cross your fingers that I get back into the groove of posting, I've been a little out of touch lately, ya think? More soon, promise!
