Any post that starts with the biggest artichokes you've ever seen is bound to be good, right? These were huge and beautiful and delicious. Two of the best perks of living in California are in that bowl right there. You're jealous huh? So, my birthday was a little while ago and M. filled it full of fun and surprises. It was fabulous and here's the evidence.
We started the day at Stacks. Our favorite breakfast place in downtown Campbell. It's SO yummy and I had the best breakfast. They even brought out a yummy chocolatey birthday parfait that was so good. I highly recommend to everyone that they visit Stacks whenever possible. It's so good.
X. had some cheerios while we waited. Look at that face - the face of a champion. "I'm going to get that one! Arrggghhh! Got it!"
E. took some pictures of us. Isn't this shot awesome? He holds it out and takes it like he's seen M. do. He's so funny.
X. helped himself to my parfait - most of it actually. The kid loves whipped cream.
Then we went to the Oakland Temple and walked around the grounds and the Visitors Center. If you have a chance to visit an
LDS Visitors Center soon and see the new family video, go! It's great! You move from room to room and it's a beautiful video. On top of that, look at this place, isn't it beautiful? The grounds and the view are just killer. It's so beautiful and peaceful up there.
Then, on a whim we went to San Fransisco, cause why not? We've never been over the Bay Bridge before so here are some shots taken by yours truly (the worst car photographer ever!). It's a really fun way to come into the city though.
Oh. My. Italian sandwich. M. took us up to a sandwich shop/ Italian deli he tried awhile back and we had the most delicious Italian sandwiches you could dream about. Really, mine had turkey, sun dried tomatoes, artichoke hearts and pesto. If it had been dipped in chocolate it would have had all of my favorite foods on it. Really, I'm dying to go again, so good. Then we had some cannolis, walked around and went home. It was tons of fun.
X. enjoyed his view of people's knees.
Me and the Mona Lisa, ready to try my sandwich.
Seriously. Seriously. Look at that. It was so good.
X. was lovin' it too.
My boys randomly love banana peppers. Can you see them on that sandwich? They're obsessed.
My "I'm happy and in San Fransisco with my family on my birthday" picture, but I have food in my mouth so I look all mushed up and weird. Oh well, E. took it, as well as the next few pictures. He's funny.
What a lovely birthday. We had so much fun. A cute friend of mine then came over to watch the boys and M. and I went to the Art Walk downtown. Perfect birthday.
