Fountains.

Everyday I wake up and think, "You live in California, dummy, don't waste this weather."  Since we won't be here for much longer (probably), I try to take advantage of this gorgeous weather every day.  A few weeks ago we wanted to go somewhere, do something, so we went to Stanford and played in the fountains.  It's such a beautiful campus and though our children screamed and cried an awful lot, we almost had fun!

This is such a common position for these two maniacs.  They're either reading together, watching a show, playing or eating right next to each other.  It doesn't matter what they do they just squeeze their little bodies right together in the middle of the sofa.
"Hey, brothers."

Finishin' February with some Tim Tam's

We have become OBSESSED with slammin' Tim Tam's.  Seriously, if you haven't tried it you really must.  My dear friend out here is from Australia and changed our world the night she taught me about these amazing cookies.  Forget girl scout cookies, Tim Tam's are where it's at.  These pictures are X's first Tim Tam experience.  He's a bit young to slam them but he's just as obsessed as the rest of us.  He's quite upset when I told him he couldn't have another, as you'll see.
 "You wanna taste?"
"Don't tell me I can't have more.  I'll have more if I want to have more!"
"You really think I won't sneak another one?"
"You're so mean!"  Just imagine what happened next, wails and screams for more Tim Tams.  He's a fan.
We had our yearly Oscar's party with our red carpet, ballots (I totally schooled M.), good food, and Oscar coloring pictures.  The boys paused on the runway to take some pictures.  Since we had just finished a unit on Abraham Lincoln, E. voted for "Lincoln" in every category.  He was so bummed every time he lost.  I think he only guessed two right.  It was a rough night at the Oscars for him.  We had fun until then though.

The boys helped me pick out my dress, necklace and shoes.  I felt so fancy.
 M. is such a good sport.  Poor guy, I make him endure such weird traditions.  He's a champ though.  (Look at X's face in this picture.  That's the face he gives me every time I take his picture now.  He's so crazy.)

We'll finish off the randomness with this hilariously weird picture of my boys gross mouths on the shower door.  Enjoy my friends and God speed.

Random back posting

I committed to more blogging.  I can't guarantee a whole-lot-a quality blogging but I'm trying.  Here are some random pictures from February.  I "got some esplainin' to do". I'm a bit behind.
 M. took the boys for a drive one day and they drove out to the Bixby Bridge.  Jack Kerouac lived somewhere out there and Benjamin Gibbard (Death Cab for Cutie) wrote a song about Kerouac and mentioned the bridge, so naturally it's somewhere we gots-to-be seein'.  Isn't it beautiful.

 E. got hold of the camera and this was one of his more flattering shots.  Handsome devil eh?
We like Valentine's Day around here so we celebrated with the 12 days of Valentines. It was an awful lot of work but it was fun to see the boys rush out every morning for their treat.

These two are usually dressed up in something.  Superheros, trains, ninjas, captain-peter pan-bear (a popular character) and the list goes on.  This matching duo is pretty popular.

I love this picture!  It shows X who always has to be attached to me.  Project Runway is on the background (the only show I watch during the day and I religiously watch it every Friday morning) and E. is lounging on the floor slowly sneaking in to watch tv.  Also, there's a giant basket of laundry ready for me to fold and our new favorite balloon game that E's holding onto.  (We draw bandit faces on them and shoot them with nurf guns, it's a blast).  This is my typical setting.  Well, the tv and sitting part only happens for that hour on Friday but the rest is just so...normal.

We went to our favorite park one afternoon to enjoy the sun.  It was windy and cold but the sun was warm and it was so nice for the whole family to get out and play.  M. doesn't get to see these kids on a playground very often.  They gots mad skills these days.
They're so cute to go down together.  Sweet brothers.
There's more to catch up on.  It's all comin' soon.

Cross Country Read-a-thon.

I. Am. A. Terrible. Blogger.

I understand.  I'm a terrible blogger these days.  I never post and when I do it's just pictures of my kids.  I'm kind of over the whole blog-o-sphere.  There problem in that is this...this is the only way I keep any record of my life!  I don't journal.  I don't scrapbook.  I'm one of those terrible mothers that doesn't write down the funny things and the cute things that my kids are currently doing.  So dear friends, this is it.  I vow to be better.  I vow to get better acquainted with this keyboard again.  As a challenge to myself and to this blog and as something for me to commit to, I'm doing this.  I'm really quite excited about it.  I've read several of these books but I'm going to trek forward and read all of them.  I'll let you know how it goes as I trudge through.  Feel free to join me in this cross country read-a-thon.  It proves to be quite fun and at least it will give me lots of books to read.  I've loved and hated several books on this list so it will be fun to see what the others hold.  Here goes nothin'!  Happy reading.
