Introducing...Between Linnet and Linen

I'm happy to introduce my new blog - full of fun and fanciful headbands for all. I've started a blog where you can check out my headbands and accessories and you can even order right from there. I'm really excited to get everything up and running - it's still under construction as I'm not much of a computer savvy person but I hope to have things working smoothly soon. So please help me introduce...

Turkey Run

For M.'s birthday he wanted to go to our favorite Indiana spot, Turkey Run.  We went, we ate lots of french fries and then we hiked through waterfalls.  M. forgot to check the back of the map to see just how rugged each trail was and chose the only trail marked "Really Rugged".  It was wonderful and fun and we want to go back - just without having to lug a 2 year-old with us.  We all had a lovely time though.
So, enjoy our little trip, you'll probably be tired at the end too.

Happy Birthday M. Douglas!

It's M's birthday everyone - so stick your fist in the air, dance around and shout "Happy Birthday M. Douglas". Today is a good day my friends - a happy, fun, traveling, birthday celebrating, fist pumping day.

Happy Birthday M.
p.s. Thomas Jefferson - get your paws off my mans bum, no birthday spankings from you please.

Awesomeist.

You know when you find that one piece of furniture and for years it just stays with you? Well, that is this chair for me. I will most likely never own this chair but for some reason it appears in my dreams often and, well, I love it.

New and Blues, mostly News.

E. has been having a rough time falling asleep lately - can you tell?

In other news, we have some new neighbors. For some reason this cute little duck couple have run off together and made their home around the corner. They come over for a late afternoon bread snack because they know by now that if they squawk loud enough E. will come running with treats. It's always nice to have new neighbors - I would much rather live next to a duck runaway team than the gross pot smoking, skateboarding, bad music singing neighbors we have right now. Pray for them to leave and give their home to this cute couple.

The dresser.

So I took on a project this last week that I didn't think was going to work out but surprise of all surprises - I LOVE it! I have been looking for a new dresser for months because M. and I were still sharing a dresser since we've been married and - hello - I have way more clothes than that. SO...I walked out to put a dirty diaper in the dumpster and this is what I found.

Nice action shot of E. helping me peel of the disgusting stickers. It must have been owned by some disgusting teenage boy that liked horror movies from the early '90's, smoked pot and wore Aqua Di Gio because it was rank and dirty and disgusting and bad taste - that's all my venting, I feel better now.

I couldn't show a shot of the entire dresser because the other side had some nasty profanities that some might find a bit offensive but you get the point right? So, I didn't know how this was going to work out but I was surprised to find that it worked out quite nicely. After some major scrubbing and scraping I painted it a beautiful yellow, distressed it and then modpodged some paper on top and in the drawers.

Then online I found these amazing knobs that I promptly purchased and thanks to the great man I bought them from I received them within a couple days and could put them on. So here you have a finished project (though the lighting is terrible, sorry). I love it and it was so much fun. I love refinishing furniture and I would refinish everything in my house if I could - though that might be overkill right? Anyway, I hope you all like it as much as I do - because I totally love it.

Pricing.

I have no idea what the prices should be. I'm thinking around $8, $12, $15? I think I was subconsciously hoping someone would magically suggest the perfect price when I asked for feedback, since no one did - does that sound fair? The whole business side of this is pretty foreign to me so I'm hoping by next week to have something more solid going.
If you have any questions or would like anything you see shoot me an email - chardw@gmail.com!
Thanks for all your comments everyone - it's encouraging. And Ryan, I'm so willing to take you up on your offer when you have time!

What d'y'all think?

So...I've been busy lately, no blogging, no singing, just work work work. Some of this new work has been super fun though and I wanted to give you a preview of coming attractions. I'm starting a little business and I'm looking for feedback and name ideas from all my faithful followers. So here goes.
btw...I'll hopefully be getting a little more professional with a site and better pics (M.- thanks for taking these, everyone else - sorry I look so ridiculous in most of them) and what not.
