Indy Baby!

I know, I know, you're all getting so sick of all these pictures, but hey, we're having fun and you're looking - so there!
We spent Memorial Day down in Indianapolis (yes, the day after the big race, it was cool to see the aftermath). Since it's always raining when we go down it was nice to walk around and take some pictures. E. loves to make this new goofy face when we tell him to smile, you can see it in several of the pictures. Enjoy!

We went walking in the morning and encountered our first ever wild turtle. E. was overjoyed and I would be a fibber if I didn't say that M. and I were totally diggin' it too. He was so cute, and FAST!

Glam shots of us!
Here's the face.
So pensive.
The face again.
We finished off our day with E.'s first popsicle. As you can see, it was a hit!

I heart Bakers.

Yes, I do love pastries and baked goods but more importantly I have this sick obsession with the store Bakers. I try not to be materialistic but come on, what girl doesn't love shoes, seriously? I have loved this store since I was a wee little teenager and my sister and I would go to the super duper clearance and buy the coolest and strangest shoes ever. I love that the Internet has made it possible for me to peruse hundreds of shoes (totally out of my price range) but hopelessly fun to look at. If anyone EVER needs to buy me a present (birthday July 20, Mothers Day, we do celebrate Christmas and would consider Hanukkah if that brought in more loot) just about anything on this website would totally rock my little shoe-lovin' world. I'm only half kidding, I would accept gifts at all of those occasions but only some of you need to get them for me. (wink wink)

Once a Year!

My hubba hubba burnin' love husband is another year older tomorrow! (I needed to get this done tonight because he's completely absorbed in the Lakers and Nuggets game and he totally would have stopped me from doing this otherwise). Happy B-day M.!

Foot in Mouth

Have you ever had one of those experiences where you blab on and on and on about something that no one cares about but you and everyone in the room very respectfully nods and thanks you for your comments but later you realize that they were all dying to change the subject. This is my life and I'm not sure why I continue to do this but I do it all the time! Last night was a perfect example. I talked and talked about childbirth like I was a resident professional, seriously, I talked for over an hour about who knows what involving labor and literature and hospitals (I didn't even deliver here - like I would know anything about the local hospitals). I was just trying to make conversation right? Then, come to find out at the very end of the night, the people I had been "preparing to have a baby" already have a kid! Yeah, She's old enough to need math tutoring so what does that say right? Ouch, insert food, never talk again. Man I'm lame, whatever life goes on and I'm sure I will be doing the same stupid thing tonight because that's just what I do.

I shake my head...

I know you're all waiting for my reaction. Well, after a good nights sleep...I shake my head, I shake my head.

Yet another picture post, but come on...Chicago!

We finally made it out to the "Windy City" this last week. We've been trying to get out there for ages and have just been too busy but FINALLY we made it and had a fabulous time. Sorry for so many pictures but I know all of you are secretly sitting at home just wishing that I would post more boring pictures of us. So here you go, all your dreams will come true...
A view of the city on our way in. M. loves cityscapes and made me take about a gazillion pictures.

If you know me then you know that I love me some Chicago Dog! That was our first stop, Chicago Dogs all around baby!

Random picture of my head and the ginormousness of the city behind me.

E. has this weird thing for birds and all he wanted to do all day was chase the poor pigeons. They're so used to people though that they didn't really care, the just waddled away, occasionally looking at him with those bothered city bird looks they get. "Give me some food or go away kid."

The bean. Yeah, it's huge.
He loved standing by it and checking himself out.

The only family pic we have taken in ages, strangely taken in the bean.

More city from a view at Grant Park.

Hello fantastic fountains! We played in the fountains for AGES! E. wouldn't get out and we would walk around then stop to warm him up, walk around, stop to warm up etc. He was nuts, then of course we ended our stop there with him slipping and hitting his head, poor kid. At least he was finally willing to get going.

We then made the trek to the strange yet lovely IKEA! We definitely have mixed emotions about this place. Everything you could ever NOT need you can find there, and yet it was strangely really fun. We spent hours completely turned around and confused and left feeling strangely foreign. Weird.

E. was in heaven in that kids section. Look at that face, he couldn't get enough.

Well, after tons of fun and paying a couple of strange tolls (one of them completely in pennies) we made it home and look fondly on our crazy day in Chicago. I hope it wasn't too boring for all of you but we loved our day in the "Windy City". Best to all of you and we hope you get to have some fun trips yourselves.

Check your pride at the door.

So here are the promised pics of our hot stuff family chillin' at the Children's Museum.
E. didn't want to get out of this race car, we had to bribe him to get out.

You can play with all kinds of water toys and let them get as wet as they want, E. obviously wanted to get awfully wet.
I think M. had more fun than E. did. You go dude!

"Dinosaurs. Roar, roar, roar!" ~ Direct quote from E. looking at this pic.

Awww, we love trains.

Eat your heart out all you Star Wars fans!
He did this for hours.

This picture goes out to Bampa (my dad). That's what E. is saying in this picture. "Bampa, Bampa, tractor! Vroom!" He kept saying it over and over.

I know, right?

OK America, what were you thinking? Kris over Danny? I mean really - America? I went to my bathroom after the show, I dusted off my feet and I washed my hands of your mistake. Adam better win or I will lose all faith in our country, or at the least, my faith in the voting population. (Just the American Idol voters, I am a big Obama supporter) Come on, I know the teenage girls are voting for Kris but all of you wonderful women over 50 that vote every week - what's happening to your votes? He sounds like Michael McDonald ladies.

Too personal?

So I had a conversation the other day with my good friend and I realized that before I knew it my "word vomit" had taken over and I was spewing all kinds of personal information that really should have been kept in. This is typical of me, I get this "word vomit" when I get nervous and just start talking and talking and sound ridiculous so I wasn't really surprised. I was, on the other hand, surprised at what intimate details I was telling. You see, even I have boundaries on what it's OK to share and what isn't OK. Even though I suffer from nervous regurgitation I am still a pretty private person and don't typically share what is really going on down deep, so naturally I was surprised.
I had another conversation with another friend a few days earlier where I was encouraging her to therapeutically share what was happening inside her completely closed off shell. As I thought about these two conversations I wondered if perhaps my advice to one friend, encouraging her to let out all the pent up emotion and anger, had spilled over into my overly hormonal life and I let it all spill out. Honestly I didn't know that a lot of that was in there so I have yet to decide whether it was a break-through or one of those situations where you have more or less just convinced yourself there is a problem because you just spilled it in grave detail to some poor unsuspecting person.
So...here is my question to all of you. Where is the line when you just need to keep it to yourself? How private is too private? Does anyone have any thoughts on this? If so I am so interested on what everyone thinks. When is it just too personal to share with just a good friend?
